David Leavitt's fabulous collection, opened my eyes and made me feel warm and toasty inside. His stories made me cry as well and smile. Although I do not have an immediate connection with David Leavitt's stories, they did bring back memories of different life situations. I recommend this book to young or old, retired or a student. Life is always handing out situations to think about and Leavitt's collection could help you through it.

I am a highschool teacher of English in Budapest, Hungary. I found only one short story by David Leavitt in an anthology of which title is "Gravity". I found it so beautiful that I gave it to my students to read and I will also buy the whole book. "Gravity" is a masterpiece of short fiction that should be read by all straight people. I also would be interested in translating the book into Hungarian!

This is a magnificent collection of short stories! Gay literature has never been so touching and poignant. I would recommend this collection for gay readers but even more so for family and friends who would like to learn tolerance and understanding. They are gentle stories that prove that gay love is as profound as any heterosexual relationship. Take my word for it: I'm a straight white woman!
