About Baxter:
Baxter is a _skinnable_ IRC client for the BeOS. Much like mIRC, Baxter allows you to have your channels as tabs of one window, but for those used to other clients you can simply drag the tabs away from the window.

I added a lot of neat things to this release, but a lot of stuff originally planned for Baxter X is still missing. For more complete information about why it's missing and what's planned for Y, head on over to http://www.abisoft.com/Baxter/
- Baxter now checks to see if new versions are available. If you feel connecting to a web site everytime Baxter starts up is an invasion of your privacy, please disable the "Check For New Versions of Baxter" checkbox in preferences.
- /run command runs an command line application and sends its output to Baxter
- /rrun command does the same, but sends its output to everyone
- /uptime command tells everyone your uptime, /cuptime tells them in color
- Remote control:
Baxter now has the ability to allow other applications
to control it. Included in the x86 version of Baxter is an
application called QueryCLAmp. QueryCLAmp sends
text with the name and current position in the song that
CL-Amp is currently playing to whatever channel or
query window happens to have focus in Baxter. If
you're interested in writing other applications to control
Baxter, checkout the external control tutorial.
- Scroll wheel support: you can scroll up and down in the text display without giving it focus first
- Various bug-fixes with R5
- No more ghost users in the user list
- Various bug fixes with IRCNet
- If you change your nick manually with /nick before you're logged in, Baxter now behaves correctly
- CTCP USERINFO returns uptime as does CTCP UPTIME
- DCC Cancel
- Clicking tab problems fixed
- Unicode 2.0 encoding didn't seem to work with Baxter so it's gone
