INFO   ORDER   DEMO
Protect It, a script/program written in Perl which is designed to create & manage the .htaccess or .nsconfig method of server authentication for web browsers accessing a web directory for web servers.

Built in with many features such as auto account creation, expiration, account time limits, user update features for passwords, and many other configurable settings (See features below). Using Protect It is very easy. Visit our demo below for a full look at the program & how it works. If you are unsure of certain features that are packaged in with the product, please feel free to contact us and let us know of your questions or concerns.

Note: The .htaccess method of blocking a directory and accepting username & password to gain access to it is used on NSCA HTTPD servers.

The .nsconfig method is used on these Netscape servers: Commerce Server, Communications Server, Enterprise Server

Please be aware of before ordering which version you need for your server. Make sure your server supports either .htaccess or .nsconfig.

  • Updated method of authentication file syntax (Correcting Problem when their were to many users)
  • Admin area now has search for account by username or password
  • Bug fixed for Admin "Add Username" Feature. - Problem: Passwords were not being encrypted

  • Added option for users to now update their own passwords
  • When auto delete turned off & account expires, user now loses access to protected area.
  • Delete option added to the search for account area

  • Several Bug Fixes which took access away from users on info updates
  • Updated auto delete feature. Now cleans up expired accounts more often.

  • Account Subscription Form

    Subscribe for an account for access to the protected directory (Below)

  • Protected Directory

    Enter the protected directory with the username & password created from the subscribe form above.

  • Change UserName Password

    Change your password using the Protect It Change Password option.

  • Protect It Administration Section

    Administration section for the Protect It owner. This section is for administering username accounts (Add, Edit, Delete, etc). Use Password protection.

  • Sendmail for the Program to send e-mail.
