HOW TO USE POWER SEARCH TO GET A DISCOUNT TICKET IN 5 CLICKS

Power Search is the best way to find low fares on the Internet. Just fill in the form on the Cheap Tickets home page, and click the Power Search button.

Power Search allows you to view Low Fares first, then check Seat Availability by airline. This 2 Step Process lets you see which Low Fares may exist, then lets you select an airline and check for seat availability. And you can view Fare Rules to determine which dates have the lowest fares.

Step by step Power Search instructions...

ENTER YOUR LOGIN NAME AND PASSWORD
Once you've registered, all you need to do is fill in the blanks of the search form on the Cheap Tickets home page. Need a Login Name or Password? Click HERE.

Start the search by entering your Cheap Tickets Login Name and Password in the form box. Go to #2.

ENTER THE DEPARTURE CITY
Enter only the city name OR airport code. Not both. For example, enter Los Angeles, CA. OR LAX. If you're departing from San Francisco, you may enter SFO or San Francisco, CA. But not both. It's 'airport code' or the 'city name.' Not both and not the name of the airport. If you don't know the airport code, enter the city name.

ENTER THE DESTINATION CITY
Same thing. Enter only the city name OR airport city code. Not both. For example, enter New York. OR NYC. If you're departing from Dallas/Fort Worth, you may enter DFW or Dallas. But not both. Proceed to #4.

SELECT DEPARTURE DATE AND RETURN DATE
Use the handy Pull Down Menu to select a Departure and Return dates. Select the month, date, and time you wish to travel. The earliest date you may Depart is 5 days from today's date.

If you're traveling One Way, make sure the One Way button is selected. Round Trip is the default setting. On to #5.

CLICK THE "POWER SEARCH" BUTTON
OK. The next page is the Fares Page. This is a list of the Low Fares nearest the Date and Time you selected. These are Low Fares only. There may not be seats available at the listed fare.

However, Power Search gives you an opportunity to see what Low Fares exist and you can search many other airlines to find seat availability. You can also check the Fare Rules to find out which dates provide the lowest fares. Go to #6.

CLICK THE "CHECK AVAILABILITY" BUTTON
(it's the small Airplane Button)

The next page shows a list of 3 available Itineraries. These seats are actually available for purchase.

Note that these Low Fares may not match those listed on the previous Fares Page. However, the list does show which Itineraries are vailable now. Airline reservations constantly change and the lowest fares are reserved early. So plan ahead to get the lowest fares. Now to #7.

CLICK THE "RESERVE" BUTTON
Once you've selected an Itinerary that closely matches your Departure and Return dates and time, click on the Reserve button.

Now you're only two clicks away from a reservation. Check #8.

CLICK THE "BUY TICKET NOW" BUTTON
Finally, fill in the Passenger information and you're ready to purchase the Itinerary. Or, if you want to make a Reservation only, click the "Hold Reservation Until Tomorrow" button. That's it. As few as 5 clicks to a ticket (or a reservation).

If you put the Itinerary on hold, make sure to check back soon if you plan to purchase the ticket. Reservations are not guaranteed until the ticket is purchased. Airlines sometimes cancel reservations without notice.

Once you click the "Buy Ticket Now" button (or the "Hold Reservation Until Tomorrow" button), the next page shows your Reservation Confirmation (the 6 letter record locator). That's your reservation confirmation, so write the number down. On to #9.

THAT'S IT. 5 CLICKS TO LOW FARES
In a few minutes you'll receive a Reservation Confirmation notice via email (assuming you entered the correct email address). If you do not receive an email confirmation, go to the Support page and let us know. Also, check your Profile to make sure you entered the correct email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and the Itinerary you purchase.

If you only reserved the Itinerary, remember that reservations are not guaranteed until the ticket is purchased. Airlines sometimes change schedules and cancel reservations without notice.

ARE THESE THE LOWEST FARES?
Power Search shows the lowest Fares first, then lists the lowest fares with seat availability by airline. This lets you see which fares are lowest by each airline and allows you to check Fare Rules to determine the best day to fly.

Express Search shows you up to 9 lowest Itineraries available nearest the date and time you selected. However, Power Search will display Low Fares first, then check to see if there are actually seats available.

Remember, Power Search is a 2 step process. With the Power Search option you check first to see if Lower Fares exist-- even if space isn't currently available. Then you check for space availability.
