You may have found your way here from the GNU Lilypond homepage (or more directly, its FAQ.) If not: Lilypond is a music typesetting system that takes text music definition files (mudela files) and outputs nicely formatted music.
Denemo is a from-scratch graphical gtk+ frontend to Lilypond, which I'll be hacking at on a fairly regular basis for the foreseeable future. As of version 0.5.0, I've declared it officially usable - the mudela load function seems to work flawlessly, though there have been some (as yet) unsubstantiated claims that it doesn't.
And new - as of April 1 -- no kidding on this -- Denemo has become an official part of the GNU project.

Laurent Martelli's also made some precompiled .deb Debian packages of Denemo; they're available at http://perso.cybercable.fr/martelli
My development systems are GNU/Linux boxes, and each release is tested against one or more of the i386 versions of Red Hat 6.0, Linux-Mandrake 6.1, and Debian 2.1 (all more-or-less stock setups, with updated gtk+ and glib in the case of Debian). And although I haven't tested it on other systems, Denemo should be just as portable as gtk+ is, so should compile on just about any UNIX-like system. Or even Windows, though we could use a volunteer who's already got an appropriate setup in place to do Windows builds.

Subscribe to one of the mailing lists. denemo-users is intended for people who want to get help using denemo, denemo-bug for bugreports, and denemo-devel (in practice) has been a catchall for everything else. (denemo-devel gets almost all the traffic at the moment, but feel free to change that!)
