J2SE: JavaTM 2
Platform, Standard Edition
|
The JavaTM programming
language has opened up new opportunities and challenges in the world of
software engineering. Java technology is platform independent and can be
interpreted or dynamically compiled. Creating code that performs well
requires developers to focus their optimization efforts on a higher level
of abstraction independent of architectural idiosyncrasies. This session
will delineate key performance features of
JavaTM 2 Standard Edition, the Java
Virtual Machine's1 (JVM) execution workload,
illuminate recent performance advancements, and provide performance
tuning guidelines. Finally, an analysis of available Java performance tools
will be provided.
