Getting Started with the Java Media APIs

JavaTM technology is widely espoused for its attributes as a versatile programming language and runtime providing cross-platform portability, a relatively secure environment, as well as its strong networking and connectivity APIs. The Java 2 platform includes the Java 2DTM API and Java Sound API engine as fundamental components. Extension APIs such as the Java Media Framework (JMF), Java 3DTM API, and Java Advanced Imaging API complete the multimedia capabilities available in the Java 2 platform.

This session will discuss all of the Java Media APIs listed on http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/.

This session will focus on the most prominent APIs: Java 2D, JMF, Java 3D. It will also explore related Java APIs, such as Open GL-to-Java technology bindings, as time allows.
