The Java Platform is the foundation of standards based Network Identity systems,
allowing developers to learn one set of APIs while creating an industry of
service providers, or vendors, that implement and support these APIs. For
instance, APIs such as Java Naming Directory Interface (JNDI) and Java
Authentication and Authorization Server (JAAS) are included in standard editions
of Java, but are supported by many vendors including Sun, with its Sun ONE
Directory Server (JNDI support) and Sun ONE Identity Server (JAAS support).
JAAS Tutorials
Multiple tutorials from JAAS Authentication, explaining how an application can
authenticate users using JAAS, to JAAS Authorization, which explains how to
enforce user-based access controls using JAAS.
