Note from the future: I have no idea why I typed all this in.  I suppose you might learn something about me from it, namely that I have fairly varied but still monotonous musical tastes, that I buy music from bands that sold out before I was born, or that I took the time to look up links for a few of them.  Like every database programmer, I've written a database to keep track of CDs, but, unlike most of them, I've never made any pretense of actually using it myself.  I made it for my SO, the music journalist, who actually had some sort of redeeming need for something that you can easily store in your head.  Though I forget what the actual reason was.  If you want to see what she's done with it, here it is.  100% CGI using SQL, marginally relational.  Mostly I think I was trying to impress her.

Actually, I do keep a database of my CDs, but only inasmuch as I wrote the Linux CD player program that does it, and does it well, and requires no effort on my part, nor does it actually help anything, since it seldom tells me anything I don't already know.  It's called Lyn, and you can obtain it from sunsite.unc.edu.
