This is the
official home page for DocBook: The Definitive Guide. The definitive guide,
written by Norman Walsh
and Leonard Muellner and published by
O'Reilly & Associates, Inc.,
is the official documentation for DocBook.
DocBook is an SGML DTD maintained by the DocBook Technical Committee of OASIS. It is particularly well suited to books and papers about computer hardware and software (though it is by no means limited to these applications). The DocBook home page is http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/.
In support of DocBook users everywhere, this book and it's source SGML are available online at both this site and at OASIS. Of course, you're always free to buy a copy, too, if you'd like :-). It is being printed now and should be on the shelves on 29 Oct 1999.

Released version 1.0.3 of the online book. This version contains the complete parameter entity reference missing from earlier online releases (but promised in the print version). Also released "unexpanded" versions that show content models in terms of parameter entities instead of the fully expanded models.
