Legal Nurse Discussion Group. LNCFORUM. Thank you for your interest in the LNCFORUM e-mail discussion group. This discussion group is sponsored by Myers & Day, Inc. as a forum for medical/legal professionals to discuss relevant issues pertaining to their discipline. We have decided to sponsor this discussion group in response to the many comments that we have received concerning the lack of relevancy that has been slowly creeping in to the dialog of unmoderated forums. We at Myers & Day have given considerable thought about how to make this forum the most pertinent and germane concerning medical/legal issues. In this regard, we have decided to create a fully moderated discussion group. The Chief Moderator of this group will Be Sara (Sally) Waltman CRNP. Ms. Waltman is a partner in Myers & Day, Inc. and is our Senior LNC. Another concern that we had was to find a list server that could handle the forum in a manner that we desired and with ease of use. We have decided to make this a subscription service for a number of reasons. We could have used a "free" list server however, for this "free" service everyone who receives e-mail would be subjected to advertising that is not only annoying but would not be suitable for a professional forum. In order to subsidize the cost of the list server and to cover other associated costs, we are assessing an annual membership fee of $39.95 for unlimited access to the group. Some of the advanced services provided by the List Server are:

• The ability to switch on/off messages for vacation, etc.
• The ability to get your messages in digest form. This service allows you to receive all e-mails from the discussion group in one batch daily instead of at the time they were sent.

These services are in addition to the normal post, subscribe and unsubscribe features found on all list servers.

Because the list server considers your e-mail address to be exclusive, you will only be able to send and receive e-mail to the group from your primary e-mail address. If you would like to add another address to send and receive from (I.E. work/home) we will do this for an annual membership fee of $59.95 for two E-mail addresses. We are sorry but we are only able to do this at the time of enrolment for it to be considered as one account.

We realize that because this is a startup discussion group, there will be a time frame to enlist members. Because of this, we are going to make the annual membership period 15 months until we have our first 50 subscribers. After that, we will revert to the normal 12-month membership.
