The JavaServer Product Family is a growing suite of products that brings the strength of Java to the server side. This suite is based on the JavaServer API, a complete framework for what are called Java Services.

The first commercially available service based on this API is our own Java Web Server. Other servers are currently in development. The WebTop Server is just one example. Our API licensees are also hard at work creating a wide variety of Java Based servers. Check out our growing list of Licensees

In addition to Services, the Server API defines Servlets. Servlets are Java objects that extend the functionality of Java Services. They can almost be thought of as Server Side Applets -- without a face. Consider the example of a Web Server servlet. Such a servlet allows a webmaster the flexibility to include dynamic content within their web site.
