OpenDocs Call for Authors.

OpenDocs, LLC. a publisher of technical books and manuals is looking for potential authors. If you are an author, or a would-be author, Opendocs wants to hear from you. The ideal OpenDocs author has a desire to write in a clear and effective manner.

As the technical industry changes rapidly OpenDocs is happy to work with first-time authors that demonstrate a desire to produce a quality manuscript. OpenDocs is open to any ideas on technical books that you may have, but have particular interest in the following areas:

FreeBSD, Linux, Open Source in general, Programming Languages (specifically Python, Perl, and PHP), Databases (including MySQL and PostgreSQL), Network and Linux Security.

If you have an idea in mind for any of the above or any other technical book, please do not hesitate to contact them.

OpenDocs is best known for its Securing and Optimizing Linux: Red Hat Edition book (a LDP Guide).

ThinkGeek donates to LDP.

ThinkGeek has announced a T-Shirt that benefits the LDP. It will provide warmth, cover various scars and donate $7 dollars to the LDP for every shirt sold. The shirts are only $15.99 so you should pick one up.

Jon "maddog" Hall designed this t-shirt himself. Over the right front breast is a globe with "LINUX" wrapping around the equator and the phrase "World Domination Through World Cooperation" written above and below the globe. On the back is a grand ol' Tux Wizard, in purple flowing robe and pointed cap, and with a maddogish silver beard and hair.
