| background: the registry on my nt4 system got overwritten and so I was in the process of reinstalling nt. I backed up all my data from the nt partition onto a dos fat16 partition on the same hd. all this partition creating and moving must have confused linux, as it tried to mount the backup dos partition as the system partition. it complained of a bad superblock (duh) and I think I accidently ran fsck on that partition (dos). now it seems that partition is corrupted. how can I uncorrupt it? I've tried fsck.msdos and basically the part is unrecognizable because the beginning has been overwritten (I think). how can I recover that data (from linux or elsewhere)? thanks, patrick ps sorry for the bad formatting, I'm using lynx for the first time in a long time.
