• Review, LaCie USB hard drive, About.com, 9/20 [Macs Only!]. "USB's limited bandwidth makes USB hard drives an unwise choice for daily use."

• Advice: AirPort support for older Macs, Charles Moore, Miscellaneous Ramblings, 9/17. AirPort is only for the iBook and "Sawtooth" G4, but there are other wireless, AirPort-compatible solutions for other Macs.
• Opinion: The G4 stinks, and so does my PowerBook, Charles Moore, Applelinks. Moore means it literally -- the scent of new computers can be troublesome.
• USB: Addonics releases USB CD-RW for iMac, Mac Observer, 9/17.
• News: Handspring's new Visor sports USB port for connectivity, allUSB, 9/16. Visor is the new Palm OS handheld.
• News: MyTV brings USB television, video capture to iMac, G3, G4, Mac Junkie, 9/15.
• News: World's largest USB hard drive, Mac OS Planet, 9/15. Fantom Drives introduces 25 GB drive.
• News: Jobs says iBook shipping today, The iMac, 9/15. "Preorders have reached 160,000 units!"

• Hands On: iBook in-depth part 2, The iMac, 9/6. "...the 3D graphics produced by the Rage Mobility is pretty awesome for a little consumer based notebook computer, which means that it's a wonderful option for gamers."
• Analysis: PC or Mac? Both give great service, Roanoke Times. "We also find that Macintosh computers last longer and retain their value longer."
• News: Computer labs out of order, classes stopped, Metropolitan State College of Denver [MacCentral]. Switching PCs to Windows NT shut down 12 computer labs, leaving Macs the only working computers.
• Software: iCab preview 1.7 available [Macs Only!]. Alternative to Netscape, IE. Download still under 1 MB. German, English, and Japanese versions available. Now supports some Microsoft and Netscape tags not part of HTML 4.0. Can bookmark frames. Still no Javascript, CSS. Lots more.
• Web: 50 greatest comic books, Mitchell Brown. Excellent fan site with good ranking of most significant titles.
• Opinion: Is the G4 really a supercomputer, Mac Junkie, 9/6. "It seems obvious that, in light of the absurdity of the commerce rule, Apple has decided to make fun of it in order to get it changed."
• Opinion: Fantastic four, Andrew Gore, Macworld. "With the arrival of the Power Mac G4, the personal supercomputer is finally here."
• Opinion: Jesse's first ever technology merit badges, ZDNet, 9/6. Apple wins for "most artistic."
• Opinion: Why the G4 uproar?, Dan Knight, Low End Mac, 9/5. Apple never promised a G4 upgrade for the Blue G3, so why is everyone complaining?
