Mac Daniel Staff

Mac Daniel is no longer a one man show. (Large sigh of relief!) I've been joined by a staff of Mac experts, each prepared to offer the same kind of practical Mac Daniel advice in their own area of expertise.

Please contact staff members directly with your questions. Remember than anything you send could end up as a Mac Daniel column.

  1. Charlie Ruggiero has used a lot of Macs, from Plus to G4, and even ran a BBS (remember those?) on a Plus. He works as Macintosh tech support and technology advisor for the College of Education at Michigan State University. He does a lot of hardware and software troubleshooting, as well as a great deal of video editing, capture, and streaming. Charlie is well versed in HyperCard, fairly knowledgeable in Future Basic, and has a good background in sound and video. He even has his own site, Edge of Heaven.
  2. Chris Lawson has been using Macs since 1988. He has extensive experience with Mac OS 8 and later -- and a good deal of experience with System 7.5 and up as well. Earlier System 7 versions are also within his realm of knowledge, as is System 6. He has used and abused a wide variety of Macs from the Plus to G3s, gaining extensive Power Mac experience and a great deal of Compact Mac knowledge. Questions on all topics are welcomed, but be forewarned that pre-G3 portables and pre-System 7.5 Internet access are his weak spots. For a more personal bio, please visit his web site.
  3. Julie Fugett is a part time help desk tech at the U of KS and a 1999 graduate in Music Education. She has lots of experience with dial-up and ethernet connectivity and is familiar with a wide variety of apps. She owns a LC 580 and is quite familiar with the 500-series Macs, but she'll attempt to answer questions on just about anything. She'll also be in the job market very very soon, so hire her, please. (Looking for an employee who knows the Mac? Check out Julie's resume.)
  4. Manuel Mejia is familiar with Mac IIs, LCs, and older PowerBooks. He uses both a PowerBook 145B and a Mac IIcx with System 7.1 on a regular basis. He also owns the Pina books on repairing compact Macs from 128k through the SE and is willing to look up answers. And he keeps a Mac II with System 6.0.7 on standby so he can help out with System 6 questions. (Manuel doesn't have a Power Mac, so please don't ask Power Mac questions.)
