This PowerBook G3 was the first designed around the
PowerPC 750 (aka G3) processor. Don't confuse the original
with the new PowerBook G3
Series -- although it bears the same name, it's a whole
new computer. Details- introduced November 10, 1997; discontinued
- requires System 7.6 or later
- CPU: 250 MHz PPC 750 (aka G3)
- bus: 50 MHz
- ROM: 4 MB
- RAM: 32 MB, expandable to 160 MB using a single EDO
RAM DIMM
- Level 2 cache: 512 KB backside cache running at 100
MHz
- VRAM: 2 MB
- display: 12.1" 16-bit 800x600 color active matrix
also supports millions of colors on external
displays - hard drive: 5GB ATA IDE drive
- CD-ROM: 20x, removable
- ADB port for keyboard and mouse
- DIN-8 serial port on back of computer
- PowerBook SCSI connector on back of computer
- ethernet and modem standard
- 1Mbps IrDA
- two PC Card slots
- weight: 7.1-7.7 pounds with battery
- battery: rated at two to four hours of use
