Welcome to the AppleScript Library
The AppleScript Library is designed for two purposes: to provide common scripts that people can use for their every day purposes, and to be a launching pad for learning how to develop your own AppleScripts.
If you are not using AppleScript (as probably 90% of users are not), you are not using your computer to its fullest potential. My computer at home turns on at 4:00, a script launches at 4:07 and all my email is waiting for me when I get home - saving me a good 15 minutes per day - or over 60 hours a year - with just one Macintosh and one 7 line AppleScript!
The scripts listed on this site are provided by many different people - as a service to other Macintosh users. Neither the authors or myself are to be held liable for any damage any of these scripts may inflict (I check them myself, though) or any incorrect results that may occur from their use. Please read the Legal Disclaimer before you use them.
With that out of the way, anyone can submit their own scripts, just make sure I can go in and check them (aka - don't send me run-only scripts - I can't verify them!)
To the left are links to the scripts in the library and beneath that are links to other sources of learning how to AppleScript yourself. Basic scripting is not hard, since you can record scripts, it is written in "near English" and each program has its own code library (just drag the app on the Script Editor to see) - the more advanced scripts can look somewhat cryptic - that's why you start small!
So have a look around and enjoy! And let me know if you have any problems or questions.
