Welcome to the MentalUNIX Linux Distribution Homepage, brought to you by the MentalUNIX Project. MentalUNIX Linux is a linux distribution that is being co-developed on the internet much like the popular distribution Debian. However, please note that MentalUNIX Linux is NOT based off of Debian, or any other distribution.

History of The MentalUNIX Project: The MentalUNIX Project began in/as a club on Yahoo called mentalunix. Sometime during the course of the club, the idea of creating a new Linux distribution was thought up, and ideas were submitted by the three founders of this project (Clinton Ebadi (Projet Leader of the MentalUNIX Project, and founder of the mentalunix club on Yahoo), Dustin Knie (lead OS Developer), and Michael Church (Lead Application Developer)). And so, the MentalUNIX Project was created. And we are looking for developers. If you are interested, contact any of us, and tell us where you are interested in helping, and what your skills are, including any other projects that you have worked on.

History of the MentalUNIX Linux Distribution: Initially we came up with some great ideas, and decided to base this new, revolutionary distribution off of Mandrake 7. However, after I, Dustin Knie, went out, purchased, installed, and used Mandrake 7, it was decided that a better approach would be to just create a new distribution from scratch. This was not because Mandrake 7 isn't a great distribution, because it is, but to modify, and redistribute such a distribution, would be a great task, and creating a distribution from scratch would both be easier, and better in the long run.
