Who Needs This Utility?
The Client Add Pack Conversion Utility is for Small Business Server customers who need to upgrade or repair their Small Business Server 4.0 Client Add Packs.
Issues Fixed by This Utility
Client Access Licenses (CALs) for Small Business Server 4.0 Client Add Pack media can not be added to an upgraded Small Business Server 4.5 network. If you have already upgraded your system to Small Business Server 4.5, all Small Business Server 4.0 Client Add Packs must be converted for use with Small Business Server 4.5.
This conversion utility only works on Small Business Server 4.0 and Small Business Server 4.0a Client Add Pack disks.
Important: You must run this utility on the same Small Business Server machine where you will be using the converted Client Add Packs.
To convert your Small Business Server 4.0 Client Add Packs:
- Run the self-extracting executable file, Con4045.exe, to extract the conversion files in a temporary directory on the server that has Small Business Server 4.5 running.
- Switch to the temporary directory where you extracted the files, and run Convert.exe.
- Insert the Small Business Server 4.0 or Small Business Server 4.0a Client Add Pack disk into drive A.
- Click Go to begin the conversion.
Note: This utility can be used to upgrade only Small Business Server 4.0 Client Add Packs to Small Business Server 4.5 CALs. If you have Small Business Server Client Add Packs that include Microsoft Office 97 Professional Edition licenses, you must upgrade the Office 97 license separately.
