AUGUST 15, 2000 -
Linuxcare releases Linux drivers for the Sun StorEdge T3, the first
Sun hardware product to be supported by an open source driver. The
source code package is now available for download. Visit Sun's
booth, #1240, and Linuxcare's booth, #1308, at LinuxWorld in San Jose
for a live demonstration of the Sun StorEdge T3 array running on Linux.
AUGUST 7, 2000 - ZDNet Sm@rt Partner has published an article,
titled "Sun Moves Closer To Embracing Open Source," which mentions the
upcoming Linux driver for the Sun StorEdge T3 storage array.
August 16, 2000 - The t3ctl utility will now auto-detect and
auto-configure any number of attached T3 devices with the '-a' switch.
Download the new sun-t3-0.2.1 driver code to take advantage of
this new feature. |

Contributors
Jason McMullan lives in Pittsburgh, PA and has been working with Linux since
the fall of 1992. Since graduating Carnegie Mellon University in 1996, he
has worked for the CMU Robotics Imaging Lab, and joined Linuxcare in January
2000. His primary interest is device drivers, and worked for three years on
the Linux GGI project.
Ciro Cattuto is a developer at Linuxcare Italia, focusing on embedded Linux systems. After graduating in Physics in 1997, he has worked on clustering and several computing projects involving Linux. He worked on T3
diagnostics and contributed to the driver design.
Steve Rojem, as a Principal Consultant at Linuxcare, has been Project Manager
and Requirements Analyst for the T3 project. Graduating from The University
of Toledo with an Information Systems degree, Steve has 18 years of computer
experience. He has been using Linux since kernel 1.08 and has been a devoted
fan ever since.
