Wanna work at Ritual?

Joel Braby updated his .plan with the news that Ritual is looking for a college student in the Dallas area to work as a MIS intern.

Applicants should be able to provide their own transportation and be willing to work 10-20 hours per week. Duties will include, but are not limited to, desktop support, server maintenance, web site maintenance, and other support tasks. Please contact Mark Dochtermann (markd@ritual.com) or Joel Braby (jsbraby@ritual.com) for more information.

Hey I'm in college..not too close to Dallas ;O Amsterdam isn't half bad though hehehe.

File system problems

Apparently some people are having problems with our file system (IE users)..I'm trying to fix it, may take a while. Currently some people can't download and also there are file count problems. Patch download is back to 138 downloads heh..was over a thousand last night. Not sure what is up. We're on it though. Just log in to ftp.ritualistic.com for now.

Sin Patch

Thanks to Mark Dochtermann who was kind enough to send some treats for you Sinners. Here is the latest version of Sin. Use this file (1.87MB) to upgrade your 1.06 version to 1.10.

Then if you are really psyched, you can download the source code (789k).

Here is what is new in 1.10:

- Cheat variable protected a bunch of developer commands
- fixed CTF flag cheat where you could join the other team while taking the flag with you.
- say_talk spamming fixed
- various bug fixes
- added cl_speechdelay
- spam control for speech synthesis, defaults to 1000
- added cl_nospeech
- archived cvar that controls whether or not speech is active
- added ctf_forcejoin as archivable variable.
- fixed bug with cinematics and Direct X 7.0
- fixed annoying phantom windows that are left after vid_restarting

Zor\'s Challenge

Berenger (Zor) Fish has challenged a few fine sports fans to a contest (much like our own FAKK You! contest to win a neat FAKK² prize) in his .plan file. You\'ll need to play some wacky Fantasy Football season, which neither Hexagon nor I know anything about, so you\'ll have to just read his plan for details.

In honor of one of the greastest football players of all time, Walter Payton, I am making a little fantasy football contest to win a copy of Heavy Metal FAKK2. I\'m not sure how big of a division can be made so it\'s first come, first served. I\'m guessing that only 20 can fit.

The winner gets a free copy of Heavy Metal: FAKK², which is a damn fine game, unlike that stank DFN game some other Dallas company is working on >;) But in any case, I was hoping the contest would be Rush 2049, in which case I was going to nominate Tom \"Suck my exhaust, Berenger\" Mustaine to be my designated driver... hmmph!

Behind Zee Knockoff

I found a really cool "homage" to Levelord's classic Spry level for SiN on the PlanetHalfLife Level of the Week. It seems someone has taken the 6" high theme and moved it to HalfLife, and although there are no bouncepads and the r_speeds are a bit high in this version, it's always nice to see people bowing to the map skillz of the one and only Zor, err, ParadoX, err, whatever that old guy's name is.. ;)
