Davy Spillane's "The Sea Of Dreams," released on Covert Records is a welcome addition to the Celtic music scene. The magical uilleann piper has produced a CD of some of the most beautiful and heartbreakingly sad pieces of music you may ever hear in your lifetime. The CD is truly a bit of Celtic magic.

Steven Stolder, writing for Amazon.com sums up the CD quite well: "The Sea Of Dreams" finds the veteran woodwind player continuing to explore his muse as a leader. Unwaveringly cinematic in scope, Spillane's music conjures images of rolling hills and crashing waves."

Davy Spillane plays uilleann pipes and low whistles and is joined by Sinead O'Conner performing on the only two vocal tracks, (Sinead wrote the lyrics for one of the songs), Colin Boland, James Delaney, and David Hentschel on keyboards, Greg Boland and Mark Thompson on guitar, Paul Moran and Glen Velez on percussion and Greg Boland, Rick Wilson, Mark Portmann and Tony McAnary providing the programming.

My favorite tracks on "The Sea Of Dreams," are "River Of Gems," the haunting "Big Sea Ballad," "Daire's Dream," "Inagh"-in honor of Davy's mother, the new version of "Midnight Walker,"-Davy's most recognized piece of music, "The Dreaming Of The Bones," and the title track "The Sea Of Dreams."
