Questions
This area will be added to as time goes on
- Some of my information has changed
(address, job history, skills, etc.). Can I change this in
my profile and how can I do that?
Not only can you change your information as often as you need
to, we strongly encourage it. The more accurate and current
your information is, the more we can help you. And there
is never a charge to update your resume.
To update, just fax the changes to us at 615.843.2638 or
email them to us at
ss_members@skillsearch.com
or call us toll free at 800.252.5665. If all you need to
update is your contact information (new phone, address, etc.),
you can use our online form.
- I'm looking for my resume online and I can't find it.
Why not?
Your resume is in SkillSearch's confidential internal
database. In order to maintain your privacy and confidentiality,
your information is only available to SkillSearch employees and
of course the companies who are looking for someone with your
qualifications.
- How do I know if my resume has been sent to companies?
The employer will contact you if they are interested,
so we have no control over how often you will be called.
You can contact us using the
Request Activity Report form
or by calling us to find out when your resume was
last sent to a company.
- I don't seem to be getting much action on my resume.
Can I do anything to get contacted more often?
Although some skills are more in demand than others,
there are some things you can do to improve your chances
of being offered a job. These include:
- be willing to relocate
- be sure your salary requirements are in line with
standard pay in your industry and field
- keep your profile updated
- let us know when you have new education/skills
- make sure your contact information is current
(sometimes we have a great opportunity for you, but can't
reach you).
- I signed up for SkillSearch over a year ago and I'm
interested in getting involved again. Do I have to pay the
fee again?
Just pay the $49 renewal fee and we can activate your
profile again.
