Before filing a complaint, it is important that you understand the UAS policy regarding complaints:
- Many issues are just a simple misunderstanding and our quickly resolved by a contact call from the UAS to the service/site in question. The UAS will always make the first contact call in a manner that reflects the fact that we assume there to be a simple misunderstanding.
- The UAS cannot take any official action beyond the aforementioned call in hearsay cases. Too often we face "he said/she said" cases and, unless one or both parties has legally admissable evidence of a case, there is little we can do.
- Parties seeking to get a service/site listed on our Caution List must have legally admissible evidence to support their claim. Most often, only services/sites with multiple complaints will get listed.
- UAS member complaints always get first priority over all others.
