CGI Software
Based on a tutorial I presented at two of the W3C's International WWW
Conferences and several others.
The Common Gateway Interface
can be used for a variety of purposes,
the most common being the handling of
FORM requests for
HTTP.
An HTTP server is often used as a gateway to a legacy
information system; for example, an existing body of
documents or an existing database application.
The Common Gateway Interface is a convention between HTTP server
implementors about how to integrate such
gateway scripts and programs.
A few of the programs we use here at The WDVL.
This software is provided freely on the understanding that the Author
will not be held responsible for
any problems arising from it's use, and that there is no support except
by agreement on a fee for
services. I wrote it for my own use, and you may well have to hack it
to suit your own needs. If you
make any general improvements please feed back the new code, I will
credit you in the source.
