If your hook’s not in the water, you’re not going to be catching any fish.
You may think all this sounds like expensive overkill – a hell of a lot of hardware to serve up a few Web pages. As I said before, you can "get by" with a lot less. But let me drag up my experience at Gateway 2000 again. Our Web page took in orders of over $1 million every day. How much did it cost if our site was down for one hour? For 10 minutes?
When I was a small boy fishing with a cane pole in the Everglades, I learned to keep my hook in the water. I always caught more fish than my big brother did because he was all the time fiddling around tying on different hooks and weights and things. I kept my hook in the water with a worm on it at all times and caught more fish.
