Global Community Staff -- who host message boards and chats -- play a vital role in the success of our community. Global Community Staff make sure that World Without Borders is an inviting, welcoming place for our World Travelers to meet and discuss important topics. They share insight and provide support to other members. GCS team members are also responsible for keeping conversations lively, ensuring that our World Travelers behave themselves, and identifying and responding to the needs of the community. Although our Global Community Staff is comprised of volunteers, there are a number of benefits to joining our team. In addition to the gratification you'll feel from helping others and being critically important to our community, you'll meet other World Travelers at WWB who share common interests, make friends and have fun -- we promise! You'll also receive: Direct input in WWB message boards, chat programming and development. Access to the GCS only chat room and message board, where you can chat with senior staff, share stories and get the inside scoop on what's happening behind the scenes at World Without Borders. Invitations to local GCS gatherings. A subscription to The Phoenix, our GCS newsletter, which contains tips, tools of the trade, news and announcements of upcoming WWB features. Interested? Great! Here's the first step: Read through the following checklist, making sure you can answer "yes" to each question. Are you a registered member of World Without Borders? (If not, please join now.) Do you have regular access to the Internet? Are you 18 years of age or older? Can you set aside a few hours for Global Commnuity Staff training? (This includes 6 training sessions, a final exam and a debriefing conference) Can you commit to at least 5 hours of conference hosting per week? Plus additional Special Events that may join the community at times. Are you willing to acquaint yourself with World Without Borders so that you can provide guidance on the message boards and chats to the community? Would you enjoy being a host?
