Introduction

Some time ago I was asked if I'd like to review CompuPic for Linux; and I've finally made time to try it out.

What is CompuPic? Photodex says it fairly well:

"CompuPic creates thumbnail images of all digital content files on hard drives and off-line volumes, enabling users to quickly, visually locate image files. CompuPic can rapidly catalog and organize image libraries, giving users a rapid overview of all digital content available to them."

I run a number of web sites and I am always on the lookout for more software for my "tool box". I wanted to see if CompuPic was going to be useful enough to use regularly.

• 32x AOpen cdrom drive
• 64Mb PC100 SDRAM (Micron)
• DLink DFE-530TX network card
• generic 3.5" fd, PS/2 keyboard and mouse
