A viewer from Alabama , September 22, 1999 My Favorite Firm Video of All The Rest! After purchasing many Firm videos at Amazon.com, this one was my favorite. I thought it would be too long, but the workout is great and the time flies by! I suggest this and also Firm Cardio for a great workout! You will love it! A viewer from Laurel, Maryland , September 7, 1999 I'd forgotten how great this workout is! I did this workout yesterday, after being reminded by my friend and co-Firm devotee of this tape as I was trying to decide which Firm workout to do (I have acquired 18 Firm workout tapes over the last 8 years), and boy was it great! I did this tape, originally called "Strong Body," regularly when I first got it (along with the Firm Cardio --originally called "Strong Heart")about 4 years ago and had forgotten what a great and varied workout it provides. Pam Cauthen is an able instructor/leader and the pushups, squats, tall box routines, barbell lifts, and aerobic portions using light weights are combined to give you a maximum full body workout. The abdominal section, though relatively light, is challenging. The cooldown is thorough and serves to relax the muscles used in the workout. Now that I have "rediscovered" this great workout, I'm going to make sure to work it in between my Firm Tough Tape and Time Crunch (my current favorites)workouts. A viewer from New York, USA , August 3, 1999 You Can't Beat This Workout With A Stick--It's Great!! The Cross Trainer Firm Strength video is an excellent choice for working out. The workouts are tough and challenging. The next day I felt the work in all parts of my body. I took one month off from working out and boy, does my body feel it. I enjoy the workout because it's effective and just the right amount of time. I would recommend this video along with Five Day ABS to serious people that want a great workout. As a certified aerobic instructor, The Firm videos are great teaching tools as well--which adds variety to my classes. I truly enjoy the workouts--I find myself looking forward to working out at home without the bother of a gym. At home I can work at my own pace and not feel like all eyes are on me. It's GREAT!! A viewer from Minnesota , July 31, 1999 Tips on all that expensive equipment! Use your imagination! What makes you think you can only get a step up box from The Firm?! Buy two step stools at Target - they have a 9" and a 14" (in the hardware dept.) Anytime they use a barbell you can always use dumbbells. The Firm will actually sell you a towel with their logo on it if you can't find one around the house! The newer videos use a dowel for balance. I use the pole that screws on to the paint roller. (A broom or really anything that helps you keep your balance works.) Don't spend all that money on expensive step stools - use your imagination! By the way - the video is one of my favorites - and I own >20 Firm videos. A viewer from Manassas, Virginia , June 23, 1999 This video works every muscle you've got to exhaustion! I've used this video 11 times now - they promise visible results after 10 workouts and they don't lie - for the first time in my life, I can see tricepts! My only complaint is, I'd like to see the girls sweat (like I do). A viewer from Washington D.C. , June 1, 1999 One of the best The Firm series I bought this tape several years ago, and this has become one of my favorite tapes. The Firm tapes, vol. 1, 2, 3, 4, Cardio (the companion to this one) WORK! The strengthening section does what it promises to do, and the aerobics section is fun as well. I highly recommend this tape. A viewer from San Diego , May 27, 1999 A tape that properly demonstrates effective weight training The Firm specifically recommends using this tape in conjunction with the Firm Cross Trainers - Firm Cardio tape. The two tapes focus on different muscle groups, working a select set one day and an alternate set the next. These tapes were made to replicate proper weight training as suggested by professional trainers. The fact that this tape has a short aerobic section and a long tricep workout is not a reason to shy away from it. It is a very good workout and coupled with the Firm Cardio, they are hard to top. A viewer from New York , April 9, 1999 Go for It! This is a great workout, and it contrasts well with the cross-trainer cardio tape (Buy both!). For several years (yes, I said years, because both tapes were originally sold only by mail-order from South Carolina) I've been using a pair of contrasting Firm tapes for 3-6 workouts per week. First it was volumes 1 & 2, then 3 & 4, etc., but these 2 tapes are the toughest and show the best results. The routines are easy to learn and just about every muscle group gets a good workout. At first the movements seemed slow and more upper-body oriented, but the results are fantastic, and when you alternate with the cardio tape (which is faster and more lower-body oriented), you'll be pleased. I wish I'd discovered The Firm tapes earlier, because I used to ride my bike over 5,000 miles per year for recreational exercise, but my body (shape) looks better now in my early 40's than it ever did during my late 20's and all my 30's. (And I can eat anything I want, which wasn't always true).
