Does anyone know how to use the proxy feature? Does it work through a standard http proxy w/o a username/password? I must have missed the documentation. south

The support is only for passive proxies that don't need authentication. I'm working on support for HTTP authentication right now.

Is it possible to download freedb's entire database and unzip it into /boot/home/config/settings/cdda? The directory seems to be filled with text files that have (what I guess) is a hash number as a file name. Is that all there is to the contents of the (87 meg bzip'd) file that you can download from freedb?
