TEHRAN, Aug 13: The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will meet on Aug 20 in Tehran to discuss "Palestine", as requested by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, state radio here said on Sunday.
So far representatives from Iran, Djibouti, Morocco and the Palestinian Authority, which are directors of the OIC, have pledged to attend the meeting in the Iranian capital, state radio said.
Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the OIC, discussed the meeting in telephone conversations with officials from other Muslim nations, the radio said.
Arafat visited Tehran on Thursday to ask for Iranian support for his position on the status of Al Quds.-AFP
