Did you look at the article "PHP3 Introduction" at
http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/Introduction/
It shows a little php code for INSERTs and SELECTS that should give you a good start. Also, take a look at the "source" links on our pages to see how some of our scripts work. We use PHP and MySQL all over the place.
