Hi, I know lots of people have this problem: I've got a webpage put together which looks great with normal fonts, but gets all jumbled when viewed on a computer with large fonts. I've read a lot of posts saying that you can overide the font setting with CSS and the important! tag, but i can't get this to work! Is it possible to do this? if so, how? any thoughts or insight would be greatly appriciated - i'm getting pretty frustrated... thanks a lot! |

If your web page is getting jumbled on another person's pc with large font settings, it might be a sign that your web page has too much stuff on it....i.e. you might be trying to cram too much on the page. Break up the page into one or more pages with a main page which the surfer uses to navigate to/from. Many terrific web sites have simple uncomplicated html. There should be nothing wrong with normal fonts. You can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. |

as an example - before your <body> tag - in or out of the <head> put <style> .smallred{ color : red; now in your html you can do this: or in a table <td class="redbold">this cell will be in bold red text</td> a normal link - <a href=" etc etc Ideally your styles should be kept in a seperate file, but play around with this for a bit and see how you go. ------------------ |

I have style properties in this CSS file: A:link { COLOR: #FFFFFF } A:visited { COLOR: #FFFFFF } A:active { COLOR: #00FFFF } A:hover { COLOR: #00FFFF } I'm not using <font class...> anywhere in html, and it works. [This message has been edited by Pepe (edited July 08, 2000).] |

BODY { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color : #000000 ; } etc etc A.link/hover/etc are treated differently to your own classes ie .bigred where you need to assign the class. ------------------ |
