| How can I get my WWW site indexed by Dogpile?
Dogpile is primarily a metasearch engine and works by querying some of the various search engines
on the WWW to return our results. This means we do not have any editorial control, nor can
we affect the content of a
particular search engine's database.
Despite the name, this also includes the Dogpile Web Catalog and Dogpile Open Directory, although the owner/operator of an individual site may modify
their Web Catalog listing by visiting the following URL:
Dogpile Web Catalog (Thunderstone)
Please Note: Dogpile does not exercise any editorial control in the addition of information to the Web Catalog. We cannot make
any changes in the displayed information for a particular site. Information is added automatically by automated "web crawlers," and may be
updated or changed only by the owner of a particular site.
You can submit a site to the Open Directory by visiting the Open Directory Project, finding the appropriate subcategory,
and following the Add URL link at the top of the page.
At this point, the best and most reliable way to submit a site to Dogpile is to submit the site directly to the engines we search.
