They never told us, so we can only assume they just wanted to watch... Long before kids were bombarded with banal purple singing dinosaurs and the word rug rat had a more generalized meaning, Walter Keane was pulling up and painting these terrifying visions from his perinatal pallette. Walter is the king and forever the ruler of the big-eyed realm. He has spawned many imitators, some very good, some not-so-good, and some merely bitter ex-wives.
