A Demo is a game that lets the gamer try before he or she buys. A Demo usually includes a scaled down version of a final retail game. The differences between a game you would buy at the store and a demo, are that the game at the store has more enabled options (levels, players, cars, planes, etc.)

DirectX is a set of components that help Windows games run better. If you don't have the correct version of DirectX that is required by a certain game, you could get errors that refer to ".DLL" files(.DLL is the extension for drivers). So download the latest version from Microsoft today!

A Cheat is a word or jumbled bunch of numbers and letters that activate a secret feature in a game.

A Shockwave Game is a game that can be run through your browser(Internet Explorer,Netscape,etc.). All you need is the shockwave "plug-in" program that you can get from Macromedia.Com. Be sure to get the one that includes Shockwave Flash and Shockwave Director.

Shareware is a way for small software developers to distribute their programs to the public. It allows the person who downloads a certain shareware program to test out the program for a set amount of time. After that amount of time has ended, you are expected to register and pay for the program if you want to continue to use it. Please support the shareware community by registering programs you intend to use on a regular basis.
