Newer kernels have changed the interface a bit. This affects
a section formerly entitled 'rescanning the devices'. Now it is
possible to add/remove SCSI devices on the fly.
Since kernel 1.3.98 some important header files have been
moved/split (sg.h and scsi.h).
Some stupid bugs have been replaced by newer ones.
