InfoMagic Linux Server

The first widely available Linux distribution optimized for deployment on Servers.

InfoMagic, Inc. has recognized a deficiency in current Linux distributions.  They are not optimized for either Server or Workstation use, rather they attempt to be all things to all users.  "The InfoMagic Linux Server" is targeted exclusively at the server market and provides top-level installation options to be configured as:

"The InfoMagic Linux Server" is based on the popular Red Hat Linux 6.1 distribution which uses the 2.2.12 kernel.  InfoMagic has optimized the base package selection to exclude components not required or desired on a server.  The Apache package has been custom built to include functionality not found in the Red Hat distribution, including php3 support integrated with PostgreSQL database.

A web-based administration tool is provided that allows all aspects of the server to managed using a web browser.

The Base Server installs a complete networked system that includes all the expected development tools to allow system administrators to download and build any packages from source.  Since the product is based on the Red Hat distribution, prebuilt RPM's may also be used.

In addition to this standard product, InfoMagic is offering custom configurations of the server product.  The custom configured server system will be delivered on CD-ROM allowing easy replication on multiple systems within an organization or immediate restoration in the event of hardware failure.
