Damon Sauve, fiction editor, first published Oyster Boy in 1994 out of Gainesville, Florida, where he studied creative writing at the University of Florida with Harry Crews.

Jeffery Beam, poetry editor, has written nine books of poems and has published widely in small magazines and anthologies. In January 1999, Horse & Buggy Press published an illustrated collection of his poems titled, An Elizabethan Bestiary: Retold. Beam lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and works as the Assistant to the Librarian at the Biology Library, Botany Section, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

C. Earl Nelson is the associate fiction editor. His work has been regularly featured in these pages since issue 4.

Chad Driscoll, contributing editor, is a doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. At the University of Florida, Gainesville, Chad studied creative writing with Padgett Powell and Harry Crews.

Lucy Harrison, contributing editor, has recently left Ft. Pierce for Tallahassee, Florida. Twice winner of eScene's Best Online Fiction award, she was a student of Harry Crews's at the University of Florida and is currently completing a novel.

Minh-Mai Hoang, contributing editor, studied African literature at Witswatersrand University in Johannesburg. Her reporting from Vietnam has appeared in The Washington Post, The International Herald Tribune, Time Magazine and other publications.
