Cool idea. 2000-01-13 18:08:09 - whitaker Brad Whitaker, Beta-tester | I just got a new Palm PC and was trying to find nifty uses for it when I stumbled upon the Mobile Channels service. Works sort of like Active Channels for IE, but instead of downloading and syncing to you web browser, they download and sync to your mobile device. I had to do a bunch of stuff that would be complicated to normal users in order to get my friends page to update daily as a Mobile Channel. I know that if we do some encoding, we can have a little "Add Mobile Channel" button on the friends page that would have the friends page and 1 link deep (EG, all of the friends current LiveJournal entries pages) downloaded. Researching now. Lots of fun when you get bored in class at school. We could have it served up in a view that will be pretty on CE devices so that there won't be tons of scrolling involved. |
