Vertigo Joins Inside Mac Games

Well, dear readers, we have decided to sail our ship towards bigger shores and join Inside Mac Games. The Macintosh gaming scene has exploded since Vertigo's inception one year ago, and--as members of IMG, the longest-running Macintosh gaming publication--we are poised to stay on top of it. The full press release is posted below.

Be sure to head over to Inside Mac Games for the best coverage of Mac gaming!

But first, we've served up our final FreeJack column, Reflections on iBook, in which Vertigo columnist Patrick Leyden explores the predictions he made about the consumer portable before its announcement at this summer's Macworld Expo in New York.

We have also posted reviews of Caesar III and SimCity 3000, two popular city-building games. Which one comes out ahead? Well, we'll save you the suspense; Caesar III blows SimCity 3000 away, but both games are quite worthy and we encourage you to read our reviews.

Calgary, AB (October 12, 1999) - Inside Mac Games today announced the purchase of Vertigo, a leading Macintosh gaming publication, in a deal whose value is estimated at three pairs of stainless steel scissors and a high-grade office stapler.

"The Macintosh gaming scene has grown considerably since we opened our doors a year ago," said Jason Sims, Editor-in-Chief of Vertigo. "As a result, we've decided to take our recently-formed news partnership with Inside Mac Games to the next level. We're excited to be joining forces with IMG and we look forward to the many possibilities that will open up as a result of our combined resources. They said they would throw in a couple of official IMG fridge magnets too."

Founded in 1993, Inside Mac Games is the longest-running Macintosh gaming publication with a reputation for the highest-quality news, reviews and features. Vertigo was established in October of 1998 and quickly became the leading daily news site for Mac gaming. Following a news collaboration established in June of 1999, the two publications joined forces and began working on a new website for Inside Mac Games. The new IMG website debuted on September 15 at http://www.insidemacgames.com.

"It's an exciting time for Macintosh games." said Tuncer Deniz, founder of Inside Mac Games, "With the addition of Jason Sims and the rest of the Vertigo team, IMG has strengthened its commitment to bring our readers the best in Macintosh gaming coverage."

Inside Mac Games began life as a floppy-disk based magazine, and has since evolved into a CD-ROM based magazine and a large and very popular website that serves over 30,000 pages per day. With the addition of the members of Vertigo aboard, Inside Mac Games is poised to provide the best coverage of every aspect of Macintosh gaming via its magazine and website.
