Microsoft Office 2000 Web Components

WHITE PAPER   April 1999

Summary
Although it's become fairly easy for users to create basic Web pages, publishing "live" documents (such as interactive spreadsheets, charts, and databases) to the Web has up to now required substantial technical skills. Office Web Components, a new technology in Office 2000, allows users of all skill levels to publish interactive spreadsheets and databases directly to the Web. With Office Web Components, a user can publish a spreadsheet rather than route it as an e-mail attachment, thus making it possible for others in the organization to sort, filter, enter values for formula calculations, expand and collapse details, pivot, and so on—all from within Microsoft Internet Explorer. Read this white paper to learn how Office Web Components help organizations use the Web more effectively.
