GUIDE TO ACCESS

The historic ships and buildings, gravel roads and stone sidewalks that create our 19th-century atmosphere may present barriers for visitors with disabilities. We are working hard to provide easy access wherever possible and to tailor our presentations and demonstrations to the needs of all our visitors. For your convenience a Guide to Access and a braille information guide are available at the Visitor Reception Center. Group reservations and guided tours are available for special needs audiences through our Museum Education Department. To receive additional information about these facilities, leave your name and mailing address with us.

An interpreter for the hearing impaired is available every 3rd Saturday of the month.

BUILDING ACCESSIBILITY

Accessible - A ramp or incline provides access to all visitors.

Limited Access - Access for visitors with mobility impairments may be limited due to one or two steps. Access is best achieved with the aid of another individual.

Difficult Access - Access for visitors with mobility impairment is difficult due to three or more steps or narrow doorways. Access is best achieved with the aid of another individual.

NOTE: All vessels have shoreside accessibility.

MUSEUM SERVICES

Parking	Identified spaces for visitors displaying a handicap plate or placard are located in both the North and South Parking Lots.
Accessible Restrooms	Located in the main entrance, next to the Variety Store on the Village Green and next to the Thomas Greenman House.
First Aid, Lost & Found	Located in the Security Office near the Village Green
Wheelchairs	A limited number of wheelchairs are available for loan at both Museum entrances.
Benches	Places to sit down are located throughout the Museum.
Sensory Opportunities	Available throughout the Museum. Please ask our staff what can and cannot be handled.
Steamboat Sabino	Main deck is accessible. Seasonal cruises on the Mystic River (mid-May to mid-October). Additional fee is charged.
Food and Beverages	The Galley is accessible
Shopping	The Mystic Seaport Museum Store, located at the main entrance, are accessible on the first floor.
Pay Phone	Available inside the main entrance.
