Marketing/Sales Representative

Job Purpose:

To generate, service and maintain marketing/sales accounts for third-party commercial aviation maintenance work to be performed by the Air Center.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Generates sales of third-party, commercial aviation maintenance work for the Air Center.
Initiates phone contact and/or travels to the potential customers location to ascertain the customer's needs and to gather pertinent market and industry information.
Compiles lists or develops leads of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories and other sources.
Travels to a various locations in the United States and abroad to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or communicate with customers by phone.
Displays or disseminates literature of product or services showing examples of work, and emphasizing salable features.
Quotes prices and credit terms and works with Contracts Department to prepare service or storage contracts for orders obtained.
Estimates or negotiates date of service based on knowledge of Evergreen's production schedules.
Initiates the bid proposal process for projects.
Serves as the EAC contact for future business, inquiries, and problem resolution.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Marginal Job Functions:

Performs customer service functions in the absence of the Customer Service Representative.
Responds to inquiries and assists visitors.
Presents update of departmental activities at management meetings.
Attends meetings as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines, strong attention to detail; excellent knowledge of business English, proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; excellent communication skills including ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; ability to prioritize and manage multiple work projects; ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization, strong presentation skills and ability to favorably represent the company; ability to operate office machines and equipment; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.

Education/Training:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training or experience required.

Experience:

Five to ten years experience in aviation marketing preferred.
Heavy maintenance experience.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking and climbing. Requires occasional bending, reaching to shoulder level and lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 10 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Equipment Operated:

Telephone, personal computer, printer, copy machine, facsimile machine.

Work Location:

Marketing Office (second floor) and field work.

Potential Hazards:

Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets.

Duties not listed within the position description may be required of the employee at the discretion of the department management. Job functions may vary due to irregular working conditions or multiple shift position.

Compensation/Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
