Fairchild Aerospace Corporation Service Engineer, Senior Job Location: San Antonio, Texas Job Description: Provide engineering support to operators of Fairchild aircraft. Produce repair information, service bulletins and reliability improvements. Coordinate and oversee projects within Customer Support. Assist groups with the Fairchild organization with engineering issues. Job Requirements: Provide support for all aspects of aircraft operation including structures, propulsion, electrical, environmental systems, avionics, hydraulics, pneumatics, flight controls and landing gear. Serve as technical interface between customers, vendors, and Fairchild Engineering Departments. Provide technical assistance to field service representatives including design changes, repairs, and changes in airworthiness. Investigate in-service discrepancies and provide corrective action. Collect and analyze component reliability data. Provide technical assistance in the writing of Service Bulletins, Service Letters and review technical publications for accuracy. Develop Service Engineering training programs and aids. Prepare information for the development of presentations to operators, vendors and Fairchild Management. Education: Bachelor' Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or a 4-year technical degree with appropriate engineering experience. Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in engineering with aircraft manufacturers, airlines, or supporting industries is desirable. Positive interpersonal skills and team-oriented attitude. Ability to participate in and influence industry groups toward positions that further company goals. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, with all levels or airline and corporate personnel on engineering support related issues and their effect on the customers operations.
