Changes with Python Mode 3.77
The last version released here was version
3.58 while Python 1.5.2 alpha 1 contained version 3.72. Version
3.77 has some important patches to both these previous releases.
Here are a list of changes since 3.58. Many thanks to Michael
Ernst for his contributions, which dominate the changes listed below!
- New command py-execute-import-or-reload which imports or
reloads the current file as a module into the *Python*
interpreter shell. This is useful so as not to clutter the
interpreter's main namespace. Bound to C-c C-m. The new
variable py-ask-about-save is used to determine how any
modified buffers are saved.
- New command py-execute-def-or-class sends the current
function or class definition to the interpreter shell. Bound to
C-M-x.
- New command py-execute-string which sends an
arbitrary string to the interpreter shell.
Bound to C-c C-s.
- When used programmatically, the first optional argument to
py-beginning-of-def-or-class and
py-end-of-def-or-class can take the value
`either' which says to find either a class or
def construct.
- The variable py-scroll-process-buffer has been removed
since the mechanism for handling output, and for queuing temp
files for execution, has been rewritten and updated for the latest
Emacsen. Use the standard comint variable
comint-scroll-to-bottom-on-output instead.
- The usual crop of bug fixes, including fixes for Imenu. More
docstrings and comment fixes.
too.
