The SRE Regular Expression Engine

Secret Labs' Regular Expression Engine (codenamed SRE) is the new regular expression engine used in Python 1.6 and beyond. It was written from scratch by Fredrik Lundh, with a little help from other Secret Labs programmers, and the Python core development team.
