KryoTech 1GHz AMD Athlon - Ben @ 12:19 PM PST Tue - Nov 16th, 1999

Tom's Hardware Guide has a really cool review (pun intended) of KryoTech's latest and greatest: SuperG 1 GHz AMD Athlon based machine. This thing just stomps on anything out there...

COMDEX - What's PowerVR up to? - Ben @ 12:05 PM PST Tue - Nov 16th, 1999

The guys at The Tech Report did up a brief article on what the boys at PowerVR are up to. You may be surprised by what you see. Check out the juicy details here.

COMDEX - 3dfx shows off V4/V5 - Ben @ 12:00 PM PST Tue - Nov 16th, 1999
Well it's Comdex time again. The time of the year when the computer industry gets together and all compete for 'one-upsmanship'. 3dfx recently announced their Voodooo 4 and Voodoo 5 line of graphics cards, and Mazi from 3DWars has done up a nice little preview of these cards. Be sure to check it out.

Miss me? - Ben @ 09:59 PM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999

Well guys. Sorry for not making an appearance in awhile, I've been knee deep in essays, papers, and just about everything else the makes school so darned fun...

Anyways the guys from 24hrgamer.com have written an interesting article regarding "warez". We all know what it is, and we either love it or hate it. To discover one man's opinion (Zephram_C) in regard to the ethics of warez, read here.

More on V4/5 - Keeng Ra at @ 07:41 PM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999
Here's another article on the Voodoo4 and 5 from Gamespot. This one has a little bit more detail than the other.

V4/5 Information - Keeng Ra at @ 02:44 PM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999
There's some information on the Voodoo4 and 5 from COMDEX. The article is available right here

Q3Demo on NVIDIA - Babblin5 @ 03:27 AM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999
It looks like there's been some great code optimizations going on in the new Demo test.

In 10x7, 32 bit, highest quality settings, I'm getting 55.7 fps on a GeForce/P2-450 combo! :)

Also, look for the RIVA3D.com server for some multiplayer fun!

Firing Squad's S2000 Review - Babblin5 @ 02:05 AM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999
Thresh & Co. got there hands on a Diamond Viper 2 Z200 (Savage 2000) board. Here's a snip of the review:

Our overclocking results were very surprising. We started with the 125MHz engine clock first. We increased the clock in 5MHz increments because we didn't really expect to go past 140MHz. 130MHz went by without a problem, 135MHz passed just as easily, 140MHz? No sweat. 145MHz came and went, as did 150MHz. 155MHz? No problem. At this point we started to wonder if S3 gave us a "golden" chip for reviewers. Eventually we reached 175MHz, but stability problems pushed us back to 166MHz -pretty impressive overclock for a chip with a 125MHz default speed.

New Quake 3 Demo - Babblin5 @ 02:00 AM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999
This is still not the "official" Quake 3 demo, but it's got more maps, better bots, and more game types than earlier releases. It's 45 megs, and here's a list of mirrors:

Utopia Ad Pay to Surf - Babblin5 @ 01:55 AM PST Mon - Nov 15th, 1999
This newer service looks very promising, as they pay you 40% of the ad revenue you generate, as opposed to just .50 cents an hour like AllAdvantage. You can even run AllAdvantage and Utopia Ad at the same time and double your earnings! And, like all the other pay to surf programs, there's a multi-tiered earning potential from referrals as well. Click on the box to the right of the headlines and check them out!

Unified on Annihilator - Babblin5 @ 02:03 PM PST Sun - Nov 14th, 1999
We posted about the Creative Annihilator working with the Unified Drivers (for GLIDE emulation), but unfortunately, the CL database hasn't been updated to accept Annihilator serial numbers as of yet.

However, I've spoken to Bill Ball at Creative, and he assures me that they've placed a priority on getting it updated. We'll let you know as soon as possible. :)

What the Hell? - Babblin5 @ 01:59 PM PST Sun - Nov 14th, 1999
I don't know what this contest is all about.

I don't know who these jokers are, but in no way have they contacted me about cooperating in this.

Just check out how professional (urp) their website is.

The Mercedes of Motherboards - Babblin5 @ 01:46 PM PST Sun - Nov 14th, 1999
Overclocker's Workbench takes a look at the gold-plated AOPEN AX6BC Pro Gold Motherboard:

Some new features incorporated are Enlarged 24K gold plated heatsink for chipset, Enhancement of 2200uf low ESR capacitors for overall stability, Frequency Isolation Wall deployment for signal integrity, CPU Vcore adjustment through BIOS setting and Over Current Protection Circuit

Valve Website Hacked - Babblin5 @ 01:32 PM PST Sun - Nov 14th, 1999
There's an interesting lil' message over at Valve, makers of Half-Life, etc. Check it out here!

Wheel of Time in Stores Now - Babblin5 @ 11:52 PM PST Sat - Nov 13th, 1999
This may be old news to some, but the Unreal Engine-Based Wheel of Time is now in stores. I spotted it myself at Best Buy. Should also be at EB, Fry's, and CompUSA.

If you don't know what Wheel of Time is, then you need to check it out!

FSB Through Software - Babblin5 @ 03:16 PM PST Sat - Nov 13th, 1999
CPU boost allows you to adjust your front-side bus settings, and therefore overclock your system (to an extent). You can grab this software right here, thanks to Overclocker's Workbench.

About the Athlon Geforce Fix - Babblin5 @ 03:01 PM PST Sat - Nov 13th, 1999
The fix posted yesterday is NOT the disabling AGP fix. This registry key entry changes the settings in the PCI Push buffer.
