- Disk subsystems
This term applies primarily to enclosures with 1-4 daisy chained SCSI™
disks. We stock original Sun disk subsystems, complete with cable and terminator.
These have Sun part numbers and are suitable for Sun maintenance. If you
do not require original Sun equipment, we also build disk subsystems to
suit, using new enclosures and a variety of readily available, high capacity
disk drives.
- Tape subsystems
We stock original Sun tape subsystems, complete with cable and terminator.
These have Sun part numbers and are suitable for Sun maintenance. If you
do not require original Sun equipment, we also build tape subsystems to
suit, using new enclosures and drives in both 4mm and 8mm formats. From
time to time we make special purchases of tape subsystems and libraries
- these are featured on our "Specials" page.
CD-ROM Drives
We carry original Sun CD-ROM subsystems, complete with cable and terminator.
These have Sun part numbers and are suitable for Sun maintenance. Request
these options by their Sun option number or the features you require. We
also assemble our own "third party" CD-ROM subsystems, also complete
with SCSI cable and terminator. These subsystems are tested on an actual
Sun workstation before being shipped.
- Printers
Sun has provided a number of printing options over the years. We sell
them as complete options, as well as selling the printer engines, cards,
cables, etc. individually.

- Storage Trays
We carry complete, Sun original tray options (including the drives)
for 5 1/4 inch SCSI 50 pin drives, 5 1/4 inch fast differential SCSI 68
pin drives, and 5 1/4 inch fast/wide differential SCSI 68 pin drives.
Storage Arrays
Sun's implementation of RAID™ technology is referred to as the
SPARCstorage Array™. These arrays use both 3 1/2 inch and 5 1/4 inch
drives, as well as a 25 MB/s fibre channel interface, and support RAID
levels 0, 1, 0+1, and 5. We sell both formats, both in the stand alone
and the rackmount versions, as well as the mass storage cabinets to mount
them in.
Storage Pedestals
Sun has produced deskside storage pedestals to enhance the storage
capabilities of desktop and deskside systems. These pedestals not only
contained disks but had additional capacity for tape drives and CD-ROMs.
We carry a large selection of these pedestals in stock; ask for them by
the Sun option number or by the features you need.
